The adidas UltraBOOST is back in two fundamental colorways, White and Black. For holiday 2016, the popular lifestyle-runner model receives a new Primeknit upper in form of its version 3.0. Notable upgrades for the latest iteration include a new cage structure which is constructed using opaque plastic materials providing improvements in fit, support, and breathability.

The talk of the town coming to its official release day is how the upper is meticulously woven for the 3.0. In an interview with Ben Herath by Nice Kicks, the designer of the UltraBOOST, he said that the new upper increases flexibility and strength: “We were inspired by the movement of the body. With Aramis motion capture equipment, we are able to see exactly how the skin moves while you run. From head to toe, we are able to see force vector lines showing the direction of skin movement. In this way, we can lay down lines of flex and support along the contours of the body that help the 2D Primeknit surface wrap around a 3D form. We then reinforced lines in certain areas to strengthen and support the foot where needed. The design is driven by data and sport science so that it reflects the shape and movement of the body.”
For the first two locally available UltraBOOST 3.0 colorways, adidas is set to unleash the runner in both men's and women's sizes.
A guaranteed blockbuster hit for its timeless design and technological advancements, the adidas UltraBOOST 3.0 will be releasing this Thursday, December 15 at Sole Academy.
